Packing Day

The packers came today and packed up the house! It only ended up taking 1 day, and they're already gone. The moving truck still doesn't come until Thursday, so that leaves me 1 day to myself to make sure that everything that couldn't be packed will fit into the right number of suitcases for me to take on the airplane with us Saturday.

The whole packing experience wasn't bad. It's true, though, that if you turn your back for a second, they'll pack whatever is there! I had a hair appt. this afternoon & had told one of the ladies before I left that my room was not ready to be packed because I hadn't had a chance to make sure I knew what to set aside. Well, needless to say, when I got home, they were in my room packing stuff. So, they had to open a couple boxes for me so I could get some stuff out. Oh well...live and learn :)

The girls seem to be doing okay with everything being packed up. Tom finally left around 3:00 today with a van packed full of stuff, but he got everything in there that we needed, so praise the Lord!

Well, I've gotta run...we're going to friend's house for the evening since there's really nothing here to do except sit & look at boxes! :)

The last week

SO, here it is Monday of our final week in Fort Wayne. Tom was originally supposed to drive back today, but I guess he won't be leaving until tomorrow probably....we'll just see how things go.

The packers are coming tomorrow, so I'm trying to make sure I have everything ready. I guess more just making sure I know what they SHOULDN'T pack. And trying to make sure that I have everything together that Tom needs to take with him.

In the midst of all this, for those of you that may not know, I've had some issues with low progesterone during this pregnancy. I have had to go twice a week since early December to my dr's office to get progesterone shots. NOT FUN! Anyways, I had more bloodwork drawn this past Thursday, and the dr's office called today to let me know that my levels are still barely borderline for where they should be at this point in my pregnancy. Long story short, this means that my doctor has decided that besides getting shots twice a week, I now have to take prog. pills as well! I was really hoping to be done with shots and just switch to pills, but for now, he really thinks it's best to do both. So, Tom had to go with me today to learn how to give me the shots since he'll have to do them for the time being until we get things figured out down in Alabama. Please pray that we'll have wisdom in finding a good doctor down there that can take over my "care" since it's a bit more complicated than normal I guess.

Besides finding a doctor for me, I ended up having to find an ENT doctor for Jenna too. We found out last week that she has a lot of fluid built up in her ears, and the lady who did her hearing test said we need to get her to a doctor pretty quick since it can affect her speech if we wait too long. SO, I found a doctor that our new insurance will cover, and we have an appt. set for her on March 10. Again, please pray for wisdom to know what needs to be done - hopefully JUST tubes! For those that may not remember, we had some of these same issues with Mackenzie, and she ended up needing her tonsils & adenoids out along with tubes in her ears. So, I'm really hoping tubes will be all Jenna needs!

This is also Mackenzie's last week of school here obviously. She has been pretty quiet about the move - still not excited, but yet I think anxious to see what it's all about. We'll see what happens when she comes home in the next couple days to the house being packed up. But, speaking of school, this is another prayer need! I am really torn as to what to do. Since we haven't found a house, I'm not real sure what school to get her enrolled in. Our apartment is in a different "zone" (or whatever you'd call it) than any of the houses we've looked at. SO, if I enroll her in that elementary school, I don't know if she'll have to switch again once we move into a house, or what. I am really hoping the Lord will give me the wisdom to know where to start. I don't want to keep her out of school real long, so it's something I'll need to get taken care of pretty fast when we get down there.

I guess that's about it. Overall, just pray for us this week as we go through what may be a crazy week with everything being packed up & moved. We will be spending a couple different nights at friend's houses, so it should be an interesting week :)

I'll post more when I can, but again, I'm not sure what internet access I'll have throughout the week.

Back in the COLD

Ok, so I'm back up north in the cold! Camden had his 1 yr. old check-up today. He weighed in at just over 17 lbs, so just a peanut like the girls were. The doctor decided to put him on antibiotics to see if that helps his continuous runny nose, but did say that both of his ears were infected and his chest sounded a little rattly as well. So, let's hope this clears everything up!

And for those wondering about if we found a house down in Alabama, the answer is not really. I mean, we found a couple we can make work, but they're not by any means ones we love! When I left, I basically told Tom it's up to him to make a decision as to whether he wants to put an offer on any of them, and if so, which one. I don't really care...I was just frustrated by the time I left due to the prices of houses down there, and what you get for the outrageous prices! Oh well...it will all work out.

So once I know more of what's going on, I'll let you know. Until then, we're just enjoying our last days here in Indiana, and trying to think about what we'll need to live on in the apartment down there until we get into a house!

Thanks for the prayers, and I'll update more when I have more news...

Hello from Alabama!

Well, I'm down here in Alabama. I'm at the library which is the only decent place to get internet w/o having to go to eat at a restaurant or something.

The weather is sunny, but still a bit cold, but NO SNOW!

Many are probably wondering how the house hunting is going. SLOW. No luck just yet. We are going to see a couple more today. I'm really hoping one of these is "the one", otherwise, we've got some really tough decisions to make. Tom and I haven't been able to completely agree on a house yet, which is really stressful! So, please pray for wisdom as we try to decide what to do.

I'm limited to an hour here, and I've got lots of other stuff to do still, so I'll keep this short, but wanted to keep everyone posted!

Some final dates

Well, we have some of our "final" dates. The movers will be coming to pack up all our stuff on the 26th & 27th, then pack the truck on the 28th & 29th if needed. Tom will be coming back home on the 22nd for the weekend to get some things ready for the packers, and also to load up the black van with stuff we'll need to live on at the apartment until we get into a house. He'll leave on the 25th to drive the van back down. I will stay the last week with the kids and our flight down leaves on March 1 in the morning.

I am heading down to Alabama this weekend & Tom's parents will be watching the kids. Tom has narrowed the house search down to a few houses, so we'll see what we can agree on!

I got an e-mail from Tom today that the temps down there are supposed to get up to 78! Must be nice. He said it's already 73, but that it's supposed to get cold again tonight & for a few more days. I think he's been warped already by what's "cold"!

I guess that's it for now. A couple prayer requests:
- For my trip to go smoothly this weekend, and that we'll be able to find a house
- For wisdom in figuring out what we need to pack on our own
- For everything to go smoothly the last week here since they'll be packing up all our stuff & I have no idea what it will be like to "live" here while our stuff slowly disappears :)
