MY latest idea...

So I was thinking today about the fact that I never seem to go into labor on my own. And I had this crazy idea! Wouldn't it be fun to go water skiing on my due date? I mean who else would be crazy enough to do that? (Have I been married to Tom too long??) Maybe that would actually put me into labor on my own....

PLEASE COMMENT!

I want to hear your comments!! I think this is pretty funny, but I want to know what everyone else thinks...

Most of you know that my due date for this baby is Aug. 8th. Well, Tom just told me the other night that he needs to go to Milwaukee to meet with some guy for work. He's trying to decide when's the best time to go. He thought about going next week, but I said no cuz our girls are gonna be at grandma Palmer's & I'd be left home with Camden & if I happened to go into labor, I'd have to find someone to watch Camden & get me to the hospital. Not only that, I'd basically go through labor & delivery by myself because the chances of him getting a flight back in time would be slim.

So, I kinda jokingly said he could always wait until the next week (the week of my due date) to go since his parents would at least be here. Ok, so evidently he took me seriously and said yesterday that he needed to get his flight booked to leave on the 4th. I think he'd plan to return like the 7th. I asked him if he realized that he is seriously risking missing the birth of his last child! He has it in his mind that I am not gonna deliver early given my past experiences with our kids!

So I want to know what everyone else thinks?! Should he go, or is he completely crazy?? What advice would you give him? Or maybe I should ask, what advice would you give ME?? Crazy husband....I know if I were in his shoes there's NO WAY I would leave town (especially all the way to Milwaukee) just days before the due date!

As one last side note...I had another dr's appt. yesterday & I've at least started to dilate even though it's only 1 cm :)

OK, so go comment!!

Video

Ok, so here's the video I promised of Camden...

More updates

Things are starting to move along here. They finished the roof on the house today. (Not the shingles, but covered in plywood & the black stuff). The electrician started work today & the plumber is supposed to start in the next day or so as well. I stopped up at lunch time today & the HVAC guy was there, so my guess is he'll be starting before long as well.

With that said, it seems we've had a gazillion decisions to make in the last week or so. Let me just say I do not enjoy all these decisions! And really, it's Tom who is making most of them. From where to put certain outlets and light switches, to where to put phone jacks, and all is something I don't really care to decide. And that doesn't even begin to touch on picking out kitchen cabinets and the layout of the cabinets! Tom keeps saying it's up to me, but then I voice my opinion & he then tells me what he likes better. Not a big deal, really, cuz I'll be happy with anything, but still....trying to make decisions & still stay in budget is ridiculous. Every time I turn around, Tom is "adding" something here or there that's "just $100" or whatever, and it's all adding up!! I'm all about staying in budget, and if it means no upgrades, then oh well! But, Tom is all about re-sale, so he keeps doing his little upgrades here & there. We're not arguing over stuff, I just laugh when he tells me what he likes & how it's just a little more than what was in the budget! :)

So, anyways, here's some more recent pictures:

The electrical stuff has started

I also have another video of Camden that I will try to put on here in another day or so....it's a video of him climbing this 2X6 piece of wood up to the front entry. The other day Tom turned around & realized he had climbed it by himself almost all the way to the top. Crazy kid! He was obsessed with going up & down it, but he just about gave me a heart attack, so I had Tom take a video so people could see what things he likes to do!

On a completely different note, I took this picture of Jenna today. She got into some of my makeup, and thought she was beautiful. I told her she looked like a clown, thus the look on her face....

Framing is done...almost

I think all the framing is done on the house. Except for one small change that we made in the master bath, but that is not a big deal. I'll post a couple pics, but it's getting harder to pick pictures to put on since it's hard to tell from pictures what everything is. So, I'll mostly stick to general pictures that give a good overview of the house.

On another side note, I'm now 36 1/2 weeks along, and had a dr's appt yesterday. I feel really good still, so wasn't a bit surprised when he said I haven't started dilating at all yet. That's ok....I'm just hoping that by the time I hit 40 weeks I'll at least have made SOME progress. I'd really like to experience going into labor on my own. We'll see!

Poll

I decided to add a fun poll to the top of the blog so I could see what everyone thinks we're gonna have this time around. So, go place your vote!

Rain

We had a couple days here where it rained pretty hard in the afternoon. The house looked like a flood! But, with some sunshine today the water is gone and work was underway again.

We took a little trip to the highest point in Alabama last night. It's called Mt. Cheaha. Here's a couple pictures from the top:

What's going on....

A couple different things...
More framing is done on the house. I actually have even more pictures that need to be downloaded to the computer, so in the next couple days there should be more. Tom took vacation this week, and we feel like we spent a majority of it picking out stuff for the house. I can't tell you the number of hours we've spent at Home Depot & Lowe's! Plus, meeting with the builder to go over "details". We have been working on picking out windows - and trying to decide what exactly we want where has been a pain! Oh well...they're finally ordered so we can check that off our list!

a general view of the outside:

Tuesday we went to Birmingham to a kid's science place called the McWane center. The kids really liked it, and we enjoyed the air conditioning since it was hot out!

the girls "fixing" a car:

Camden playing at a water table:

They had this enclosure where you could feel what it would be like to be in a hurricane, so we each took a turn in it. Camden was the funniest...he did not like it!

Framing has started

Framing started on the back side of the basement today! Yeah!!
Here's a few pictures:

Tom wanted me to put this picture on so people could see how I've grown in the last couple weeks. Still not huge, but definitely growing...

The back wall of the basement will have 3 sets of double windows, a 1 car garage on the end (left side of the pic), and a walk out door.
