Monster trucks!

Tom and I went on a date Saturday to a monster truck & motorcross show! Tom wanted me to share a picture & a couple videos:

This first video is a motorcross guy who does a back flip on his dirtbike & touches the flag!
(Click on the arrow twice to get the video to run)

This next video is a monster truck that looks like it's headed out the door after going over the cars! (It didn't, but it sure looked like it was going to)

And this is a still picture of one of the monster trucks:

Back to normal?

Well, whatever normal is, we may be back to it. Jenna is pretty much all better, so she's back in the game of helping out with Camden...

And Mackenzie is busy practicing up for her 1st season of Tee ball:

Keeping my fingers crossed

I don't know if I dare say it, but things are going much better around our house. Yesterday was a great day! Jenna was back up & around, although her throat still looked gross, but she was very happy and didn't need any medicine all day (except for her antibiotics). Camden was pretty happy all day, and took a fabulous nap in the afternoon which left time for me to spend with the girls doing some crafts and just hanging out. Today has had a somewhat rough start as Jenna woke up grumpy as can be, and has spent more time crying than not, but her throat looks much better than yesterday even, so I really hope we're getting over this sickness for good! Mackenzie has been occupying her time playing games on the computer & coloring, so she's been a help this morning by not needing much from me. Let's hope the afternoon goes a little better with Jenna...

So frustrating!

Well, it seems we've gotten the fever somewhat under control. In between doses of ibuprofen we are doing tylenol as well. So, now while that is in her system, the fever goes away, but as soon as the medicine wears off, the fever is back up to 105. But, alas, we've got some new symptoms this morning....Jenna was up at 6:00 a.m. with her high fever, and started vomiting as well. As long as she doesn't eat or drink anything, she does ok, but when she drinks anything it comes back up a few minutes later. Makes it a little difficult to keep any of her medications down her!! We ended up going to have a strep test done because her tonsils are VERY swollen today and have white junk all over them. But, of course, that has come back negative as well, which means it truly must be something viral, and it has to run it's course. Again, I say poor Jenna - she's just not getting much relief, and she looks miserable again! Please pray that whatever it is gets out of her system quickly!!

On another note, Mackenzie has been very helpful, and in the midst of all this, she has been very patient with the fact that I'm either shipping her off to someone else's house, or telling her she's gonna have to wait on whatever it is she needs until both Jenna & Camden are settled down and not needing me!

I spoke too soon!

Literally, about 5 minutes after I got done posting yesterday Jenna came to me & said she wanted to go to bed (not normal for a 3 year old!!), so I checked her forehead and sure enough, she was running a fever again! It gradually got higher & higher as the day went on, and we kept ibuprofen in her every 4 1/2 hours (instead of 6) which didn't seem to help much. Last night the fever was up to 105.4 even with ibuprofen. I'm at a loss for what to do!! Poor kid - I've been told by our doctor's office (& the internet) not to worry about the fever unless it's over 107!! She's still on her antibiotics, so I have no idea what her body is trying to fight now! She's still eating & drinking fairly well, but it's so frustrating not knowing what is going on. Any suggestions for what to do are always appreciated. We've done cold cloths on her head and I gave her a lukewarm bath today (which she HATED), and the fever is down to about 100.6 which is the lowest it's been in 24 hrs. I'm waiting for a call from the on-call doctor at our pediatrician's office to see if they have any advice, so until then, we play the waiting game.

Quiet Saturday

Not much going on today, but Tom wanted me to post a new picture we got of Jenna when she was sick. He thinks it shows better just how bad Jenna's face was...but the good news is that she is completely recovered & back to herself! You'll have to scroll down to my 1st entry to see the picture.

And for those of you wondering about Camden's toes, they are looking better every day!

So how permanent is permanent marker?

The girls decided this morning to "color" their hands with permanent markers w/o telling me. They figured it would wash off, but after a good 10-15 minutes of washing, this is the result...

I've had a request for some updated pictures of Camden, too, so here are a couple:
So tired....
and here he is looking so big sitting in the rocking chair in his overalls & bunny slippers :)

Another day, another "issue"

Ok, so this morning I was putting Camden's clothes on when I noticed 2 of his toes were REALLY red. After a closer inspection I realized that there was a hair that was wrapped around his toes very tightly - so tight that every time I tried to get it off, he screamed! Luckily I was getting ready to take him to a friend's house anyways since I had an appt to go to, so she & my friend Kristin helped get it unwrapped from around his toes. When I got back home, I decided to take a couple pictures since his toes still have the mark from where the hair was wrapped around. I think we got all the hair off, but it's so hard to tell since it was so tight & his little toes are still red, so we'll see how it looks tomorrow! What a bizarre thing to happen!

Giving this a try!

We have a few friends that are into this blogging, so I thought I'd give it a try! That way, for those of you that care, you can keep up to date with what's going on in our family!

I'll start with Jenna - poor kid got the flu, then ended up with 2 severely infected lymph nodes! It was pitiful. Thankfully, she's starting to feel (& look) better!
This is what Jenna normally looks like:
